The Ron Clark Story
The Ron Clark Story is a 2006 television film based on the real educator Ron Clark. A white teacher from a small town, moves to New York City and tries to make a difference in the lives of his minority students, despite nobody, including the students themselves, believing in them. He re-instills courage and hope into the lives of many down-and-out students. Via highly innovative teaching strategies and rule sets, and an ongoing strenuous effort, Clark manages to turn several lives around and raises students' test scores to admirable levels. When pneumonia threatens to keep Clark down, he continues to work with his students, hoping that he can raise their test scores to an acceptable level. However, when Clark returns, he finds out his class did not do a good job. With a positive attitude towards the children's performance, he gets them to answer the state exams.In the end, the principal of the school reveals that Mr. Clark's class has got the highest average, a higher score than the honor class in the school. For this, Clark is regarded by his students as their best teacher.
The movie was nominated for three 2007 Emmy Awards. Additionally, Matthew Perry was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for his performance as Ron Clark.
