‘Feeder school’ launched with skill-based curriculum

‘Feeder school’ launched with skill-based curriculum
 - 27 March, 2019

CBSE approved a feeder school in Palwal area of Haryana, which offers skill-based education directly from class 9. The main aim is to control the dropout rate at the secondary level.
As per the school authorities, most students studying in state government schools drop out because of financial crisis or due to their inability to cope with higher education syllabus.
The feeder school will be operational from the academic session of 2019-20. The school will enrol students from class 9 onwards and the curriculum will consist of three skill-based subjects along with Computer science and a language subject.
The point is to maintain a burden-free environment from various subjects that may not support students to get a job after completing class 12. Visits to industries, practical session and training will be a part of the educational programme.
In class 11 and 12, students would have the option of specialising in one of the skill-based subjects. After class 12, the students will have the option of finishing Bachelor of Vocation (BVoc), recognised by the UGC, or go into the traditional education system, as the student will pass out with a school certificate equivalent to CBSE’s class 12.
