 - 10 March,2019
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched a special programme for school children called ‘Young Scientist Programme’ or ‘YUva VIgyani KAryakram’ (Yuvika).
The programme is designed to impart basic knowledge on space technology, science and applications to the younger ones.
During the summer holidays, for around two weeks, the students of class 9 will be trained. Three students from each state or union territory (UT) will participate in this programme every year covering CBSE, ICSE and state-board syllabus.
ISRO has approached the chief secretaries of the respective states and administrators of UTs across the country to arrange for the selection of three students and communicate the list to ISRO.
The selection criteria have already been circulated to the respective chief secretaries of states and UTs.
Students belong to the rural area have been given special weightage in the selection criteria.
