New app to help parents, students beat exam stress

New app to help parents, students beat exam stress
 - 29 March, 2019
A new mobile app has been launched to help parents and students cope with anxiety and depression caused due to exams and exam stress. This initiative has been taken up by the Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) and is named, ‘Conquer Exam, Be a Warrior’.
The app is currently available in English and there are plans to incorporate other language like Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi in the future. The app is not a chat platform, but an interactive medium where students can share their stories which will be reviewed by a panel of psychologists.
Initially to assess the stress level, users are encouraged to answer the question through a tab called ‘dot your apprehension’.
If the app finds the higher risk of stress-related problems, then the app advises to seek counselling or dial ‘Jeevan Aastha’. Jeevan Aastha is a toll-free number for professional counselling.
The app also features identification of traits such as fear, life satisfaction and burn out. The app not only prepares students to fight the exam stress, but also prepares them for real-life experiences. The app is open for all and is available for download on Play Store. The app helps students to stay positive during exam, motivated and stay focussed.
