Schools to submit previous years question paper to build a ‘Question paper Bank’
 - 18 March, 2019
Taking forward its new motto of ‘assessment as learning’, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to prepare a question paper bank for classes 9 to 12. The question bank will be available on an IT platform and will be ‘user-friendly'. The question bank will not only be available for students but also teachers in order to incorporate their ‘pedagogy and assessment'.
For the question bank, the board has asked all the affiliated schools to submit their previous year question papers.
A statement released by the board said that the questions will be sent for all academic subjects such as English, Hindi, Science, Social Science and Mathematics for classes IX and X along with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English Core and Elective, Hindi Core and Elective, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, Physical Education and Computer Science for classes XI and XII. It is said that the skill (vocational) subjects for classes IX to XII for the past several years are also available with a school or group of schools.
In addition, the CBSE has also asked the schools to submit individual answer sheets of each subject topper so that the answer scripts will be used as exemplar sheets. However, the schools need not have to submit the details of these students in order to protect their privacy.
Apart from these, schools are also welcome to submit other sets of questions such as problem-solving assessments, aptitude tests, etc.
