CBSE issues warning on class 11 students’ attendance
Taking into the account the declining pass percentage in the intermediate examinations, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has brought certain changes pertaining to the admission policy of class 11 students from the current academic session.
As per a notification released by the board, the CBSE has changed the rules of admission for Class 11. The board has now made the attendance of students mandatory, to be observed by educational varsities.
In the same regard, certain rules for admission and some strict instructions were put into place, wherein all schools must ensure that the students maintain a minimum of 75 percent attendance in their classes. In case a student fails to do so, he or she must attend extra classes to make up for the missing classes.
The attendance guidelines were issued owing to the fact that class 11 students do not attend classes, in the pretext of preparing for their medical or engineering exams. This frequent missing out of classes results in their low attendance percentage below 75 percent, which does not make them eligible to appear for the exam. The board has directed strict orders to students and colleges, that in case the attendance of any student falls below the minimum percent, strict action will be taken against them.
